IH British School Reggio Calabria Participates in The IH Young Environmentalists Project!

One of the biggest issues the new generation will need to deal with is environmental damage - a global problem which will need global collaboration. International House World Organization (IHWO) launched a "Sustainability Scheme" last year to help their member schools, like us, do even more to help the environment.

As sustainability is a global issue, IHWO wanted to bring students from IH Schools together from around the world to raise awareness of environmental issues. The first "IH Young Environmentalists Project" took place recently, bringing together 30 students from IH schools in Kazakhstan, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and Spain.

The students worked together online to produce a fantastic bank of environmental resources that can be used by ELT teachers around the world. Since the project required participants to be confident communicators in English, working both collaboratively and autonomously, it was decided that learners should be aged between 14 and 17, with a minimum of B2 level in English.

We were so happy that two of our students from IH British School Reggio Calabria, Mattia and Sara, took part in this exciting initiative, which developed more than just their English! In this video, they share their feedback and thoughts about this unique experience >>

We want to thank IHWO for giving our students an authentic, intercultural experience which will prepare them for the workplace, and world, of the future.
